Noah's Ark Pre-School
at Kempshott Village Hall Basingstoke
Welcome to Noah's Ark Pre-School.
We aim to provide a happy, safe, secure and stimulating environment within our friendly community-based
group for children between the ages of 2 and rising five year olds. All children within this age range are welcome and will have the same
opportunities to participate and develop according to their individual needs.
The playgroup itself has been successfully run for many years in the heart of Kempshott within the village hall, and as such has access to a fully
enclosed outside area, a partially enclosed field (very useful for sports day) and the public park at the front of the hall. At times we are lucky enough to be able
to use the main hall, with its stage (very useful for concerts). Being a community based group we have strong links with various clubs that also use
the village hall and we are regularly invited to visit them. We also actively encourage visits from people who can enhance the childrens experiences
of different cultures, environments or professions. Perhaps more importantly parents, carers and family members are very welcome to come and
share their talents, interests or experiences as we recognise parents in particular, and the family in the wider sense, to be the childs first and most
important educators. We also have strong ties with the local schools including Kempshott Infant School.
We are a registered charity; we are not run for a profit which means any surplus is ploughed back into the group for the benefit of the children.
As a charity the pre-school is run by an elected committee of parents with an Annual General Meeting, and therefore new elections, being held
every October. All current parents are entitled to apply to become a committee member and this is an ideal opportunity to become more involved
as the committee helps shape and develop the pre-school by reviewing both policy, practice, fundraising and representing the parents point
of view.
